Bain & Company to launch Montreal office
Bain & Company, a Boston-based management consulting firm, will be opening a Montreal office in October.
The Montreal location will be Bain’s second office in Canada. The consultancy has had a Toronto office for over 30 years, and its current Canadian headcount is approximately 250 people.
Bain is the smallest of the Big Three strategy firms, with approximately 19,000 people in 40 countries. McKinsey & Company and Boston Consulting Group already have Montreal offices.
Jared Fallis, head of Bain’s Canada business, said in an interview earlier this month that a local French-speaking team will enable the firm to better support Quebec region clients.
Bain works with large Quebec clients such as banking co-operative Desjardins.
Matthieu Vigneron, a partner from Bain’s Paris office, is relocating to lead the Montreal office. He has been with the consulting firm since 2005 and is a member of the private equity, telecommunications, technology, and aerospace & defense practices.
Bain says Montreal has an attractive talent pool, including business school graduates and specialized data scientists and AI experts.
“Montreal’s rich cultural heritage, leading universities and commitment to innovation make it an appealing choice for top business talent,” the firm says on its webpage for the Montreal office. “Bain has long recruited at Québec’s esteemed universities, and we are excited to deepen and expand these efforts.”
