MNP acquires Winnipeg accounting and consulting firm Lazer Grant

MNP, a national mid-market accounting and consulting firm, has acquired Lazer Grant, a Winnipeg-based accounting and consulting firm, effective July 1, 2025.
Founded in 1982, Lazer Grant provides clients with services in accounting, audit, tax assistance, and business development. The firm’s business consulting offerings include business plans and assessments, benchmarking, client advisory boards, internal system analyses, and self-funded bonus plans.
As part of the transaction, the 40-person Lazer Grant team – including partners Jeff Cochrane, Ann Fuller, Collin LeGall, Garry Chan, and Neha Shai – will join MNP.
“MNP has a long history in Winnipeg, working with businesses in Winnipeg and the surrounding area. Jeff, Ann, Collin, Garry, and Neha and the entire Lazer Grant team share our passion for supporting Winnipeg's business community and will help us to reach and support more organizations in our community. We are excited to welcome them into the MNP family," said Andrew Stibbard, MNP's regional managing partner for Winnipeg.
Calgary-headquartered MNP earlier this month announced its acquisition of Johnston Beaudette, a Cornwall, ON accountancy.
"We were looking for an opportunity to add more resources to our team, as well as more ways in which we can help give our clients the edge they need to stay competitive in the market. MNP complements and enhances our current service offerings and brings greater bench strength that will help us to service our clients,” said Jeff Cochrane, managing partner of Lazer Grant.
MNP was founded in 1958 and has 8,900 people across 150+ offices nationwide.
