MNP, a national mid-market accounting and consulting firm, has acquired Johnston Beaudette Chartered Professional Accountants, effective July 1, 2025.

Based in Cornwall, Ontario, Johnston Beaudette provides accounting, tax, and consulting services to clients in a variety of industries, including agriculture and construction. The firm’s consulting offerings including accounting software selection and implementation, business consulting, succession planning, estate planning, financial planning, and retirement planning.

MNP’s acquisition of Johnston Beaudette will expand its presence in Eastern Ontario. The team, which comprises partner Josée Payette and seven staff members, will join MNP’s Cornwall office in July.

“We are very happy to welcome the Johnston Beaudette Chartered Professional Accountants team to our Firm. Like our existing group in Cornwall, they have a deep understanding of the region’s business community and a focus on helping mid-market companies thrive. By bringing our two teams together, we will be even better positioned to support all our clients with a wide breadth of services,” said Jeff Hanley, MNP’s regional managing partner for Southeastern Ontario.

MNP has grown rapidly in Eastern Ontario in the last several years, expanding to seven locations (Cornwall, Kingston, Brockville, Ottawa [2], Gatineau, and Hawkesbury) and over 285 team members.

The Calgary-headquartered firm has 8,900 people across 150+ offices nationwide.

“MNP complements and enhances our current service offerings and brings greater support that will help us service our clients,” said Payette, who will join MNP as a partner. “This merger also provides new opportunities for our people to learn and develop their careers by working with MNP’s diverse teams and client base.”

MNP earlier this year acquired 21 offices from BDO Canada.
