MNP acquires Computer Forensics Inc.

MNP, a Calgary-headquartered accounting and consulting firm, has acquired Computer Forensics Inc., an Oakville, ON-based digital forensics and incident response services firm.
Founded in 2011 by Matthew and Thomas Musters, Computer Forensics provides digital forensics and investigation services for criminal and civil cases. The firm has expertise in forensic analysis of cell phones, computers, USB devices, websites, email and social media accounts, servers, electronic medical records systems, gaming consoles, and source code, among other areas.
Computer Forensics has seven employees listed on LinkedIn.
The acquisition of Computer Forensics, which closes on May 1, will expand MNP’s forensic services offering in Ontario.
The Calgary-headquartered firm has in recent years grown its consulting practice in Ontario to more than 450 professionals.
“We are very happy to welcome the Computer Forensics Inc. team to our Firm. Digital forensics provides valuable support in legal proceedings and investigative expertise to resolve financial disputes, as well as supporting corporations confronting wrongdoing situations, protecting both their assets and reputation,” said Brian Cheng, MNP’s regional managing partner for advisory and consulting in Ontario and Atlantic Canada.
The Musterses will join MNP as partners. The Computer Forensics team will relocate to MNP’s Mississauga North office upon closure of the transaction.
“MNP complements and enhances our current service offerings and brings greater bench strength that will help us to service our clients," said Matthew Musters.
MNP earlier this month announced the acquisition of Sterling Park Financial Group, a boutique, Toronto-based insurance advisory firm.
