Doane Grant Thornton adds three boutique accountancies in GTA

Doane Grant Thornton has added three boutique accountancies in the Greater Toronto Area: MacGillivray Chartered Professional Accountants & Business Advisors; Kevin Embree, Jenn Thomas, Catherine Embree; and Newton Israelstam LLP, effective February 1.

MacGillivray has been providing accounting and business advisory services for over 80 years.

The firm will join Doane Grant Thornton’s newly expanded Mississauga office.

Kevin Embree, Jenn Thomas, Catherine Embree, and their team have advised owner-operated and family-owned business in Southwestern Ontario for over 40 years.

The team’s office will become Doane Grant Thornton’s first location in Guelph.

Newton Israelstam has supported owner-managed business, corporations, and individuals in the GTA for more than 30 years. The team joins Doane Grant Thornton’s Markham office.

The Toronto-headquartered firm has acquired numerous boutique accounting and consulting firms in 2025. Earlier this year, it added M. Graham & Associates (Nanaimo, BC); PWM Professional Corporation (Markham, ON); DMC Chartered Professional Accountants Inc. (Prince George, BC); Miller Saperia & Company (Markham, ON); and Vottero Fremes McGrath Yee (Mississauga, ON).
