AtkinsRéalis expands US West presence with acquisition of David Evans Enterprises Inc.
AtkinsRéalis, a Montreal-based engineering and design consulting firm, has agreed to acquire a majority stake in David Evans Enterprises Inc., the parent company of David Evans and Associates, a Portland, Oregon-based engineering and staff augmentation services firm.
AtkinsRéalis will acquire a 70% stake in David Evans for approximately US$300 million in cash. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2025.
David Evans was founded in 1976 and has approximately 1,250 employees across 34 offices in the Western US, Texas, Mississippi, and New York. The firm focuses on the transportation, power, water & environment, surveying & geomatics, and land development markets.
David Evans has approximately US$275 million in annual revenue, with over half coming from the transportation sector.
The acquisition will increase AtkinsRéalis’ US headcount by about 25%, grow its footprint in the US West, and strengthen its technical capabilities in transportation and infrastructure design.
The deal will enable AtkinsRéalis to better support state departments of transportation in delivering mass transit projects and network expansions in the Pacific Northwest and California.
The David Evans team will also provide additional resources in water & environmental, land development, marine, survey and geomatics, and staffing services.
