Fire prevention expert Michael Roess joins Envista Forensics
Michael Roess has joined the Toronto office of Envista Forensics, a forensic engineering and consulting firm, as a senior project consultant in the fire and explosion practice.
Roess brings extensive experience in fire prevention, forensic investigations, and protection systems. With a background in fire service and higher education, Roess has investigated over 2,500 fires.
Since 2017, he has served as deputy chief of fire prevention at the Town of North Huron and since 2021 has been a professor of fire prevention at Humber College.
Roess previously spent 19 years as a professor at Seneca College’s School of Fire Prevention and 21 years at Brampton Fire and Emergency Services, where he was a fire prevention officer and investigator.
“We are thrilled to see our Fire & Explosion team expand in Toronto and Calgary. The addition of Michael Roess brings invaluable expertise and experience to our team, allowing us to better serve our clients and continue our growth trajectory in these key markets,” said Michael Guest, managing director of Envista Forensics Canada.
Earlier this year, Scott Broad transferred back to Envista’s Toronto office after leading the firm’s US operations for four year. Broad, who has over 25 years of forensic experience, will now lead the major loss group.
Envista is headquartered in Chicago and delivers services in failure analysis, fire and explosion investigations, digital forensics, building and construction consulting, and damage evaluations, among other areas. The firm has 600 consultants in more than 30 offices across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific, and works with leading companies in the legal, insurance, and risk management industries.
Envista has Canadian offices in Toronto and Calgary.
