MNP acquires BDG CPA in St-Hyacinthe, Quebec
MNP, a national mid-market accounting and consulting firm, has acquired BDG CPA Inc., a boutique accountancy based in the city of St-Hyacinthe, approximately 60 kilometers east of Montreal. The transaction will finalize on June 1, 2024.
BDG is led by partners Pierre Denoncourt and Serge Girouard and has team of ten people in total. The firm supports clients in the Montérégie region, with a significant focus on medical professionals.
BDG has practices in bookkeeping, tax planning and returns, financial statements, estate and succession planning, business valuation, financial planning, and M&A.
MNP’s acquisition of BDG will strengthen its St-Hyacinthe office. The Calgary-based firm entered the Quebec market in 2011 and now has 1,300 team members and 26 offices in the province.“We are thrilled to welcome the BDG CPA Inc. team to our Firm. Together we will have over 70 partners and professionals based in Saint-Hyacinthe, a thriving business community, further building on our ability to best support our combined client bases and the Montérégie marketplace,” said Alain Caillé, regional managing partner for the Québec-Centre region.
MNP recently gained its first location in the Matapédia region of Bas-St-Laurent through the acquisition of Lafond CPA Inc., an Amqui, QC-based accountancy.
The firm significantly expanded its Quebec regional footprint through a major Deloitte acquisition in 2021.
“Although MNP is a large national firm, it’s always been known for being local in focus with a small-firm culture and commitment to supporting the local communities that its teams live and work in,” Denoncourt said. “We felt that the chance to join a firm with the depth of resources that MNP offers, while maintaining our local focus, was a truly unique and exceptional opportunity.”
