Deetken Insight hires Robin Shaban as associate partner
Deetken Insight, a Vancouver-based management consulting firm, has hired Robin Shaban as an associate partner.
Based in Ottawa, Shaban will lead Deetken’s operations in Ontario and help growth the firm’s presence and capabilities in the province.
Shaban is an economist and policy analyst with expertise in competition policy/law and economic, social, and cultural inclusion. In 2021, they were recognized with a Globe & Mail Changemaker Award for efforts to advance public policy on social justice and for their academic work on competition policy.
Shaban previously co-founded Vivic Research, a boutique economic consulting firm specializing in social justice causes. They are also a co-founder of think tank The Canadian Anti-Monopoly Project.
Shaban is currently completing a PhD focusing on competition policy at Carleton University’s School of Public Policy and Administration. They hold a master’s degree in economics from Queen’s University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Alberta.

Founded in 2006, Deetken provides consulting services in strategy, business transformation and optimization, partnership and deal strategy, technology economics, energy economics, labour and workforce strategy, and data science.
The firm supports federal government, provincial ministry, and crown corporation clients, as well as other public sector entities and private sector companies.
Deetken in 2022 added Dara Frere as a partner based in Victoria.
