Alliance Technical expands into Canada with Ortech Consulting acquisition

Alliance Technical Group, a US-based environmental consultancy, has agreed to acquire Ortech Consulting Inc., a Mississauga-based environmental consultancy, from Kontrol Technologies.

Founded in 1999, Ortech provides services in air quality, renewable energy, and environmental assessments. The firm has over 30 employees, according to LinkedIn.

Kontrol Technologies, a publicly traded company focusing on energy efficiency solutions and technology, acquired Ortech in 2017. The boutique firm had estimated annual revenue of $10-$11 million at the time.

Alliance’s acquisition of Ortech will give the Decatur, Alabama-headquartered firm its first Canadian office. Alliance has practices in stack testing, leak detection and repair, continuous emission monitoring systems, lab services, ambient air monitoring, software and technology, and environmental consulting.

The firm in December acquired New Jersey-based Chemtech Consulting Group and the air source testing group of St. Louis-based Civil & Environmental Consultants.
