Canadian experts from HKA recognized by Lexology and Who’s Who Legal

Two HKA experts in Canada (Lorna Cuthbertson Tardif and John Baxter) received a 2024 Lexology Client Choice Award, while three HKA experts in Canada (Jeffrey McCain, Maged Abdelsayed, and Lorna Cuthbertson Tardif) were recognized in Who’s Who Legal (WWL)’s national guides.

Established in 2005, the Lexology Client Choice Award recognizes individuals for exceptional client care.

Lorna Cuthbertson Tardif received a Lexology award in the construction work area. A professional engineer with more than 35 years of experience in construction claims consulting, dispute resolution, and project advisory, Cuthbertson Tardif is a partner based in HKA’s Montreal office.

She specializes in delay analysis, analysis of labour productivity, and quantification of damages, and has served as an expert on more than 200 engagements.

John Baxter received a Lexology award in the expert witness – construction category. A professional engineer with 20 years of experience in industrial, civil, and building construction, Baxter is an expert on delay, quantum, and technical matters. He has acted as an expert for disputed values of up to $60 million.

Baxter is a partner in HKA’s Calgary office.

Canadian experts from HKA recognized by Lexology and Who’s Who LegalJeffrey McCain was recognized in WWL’s 2023 guide for construction expert witnesses. A principal in HKA’s Toronto office, McCain is a professional engineer with 30 years of construction industry experience.

He has prepared expert reports for arbitration proceedings and has been retained as an expert in quantum, delay, and technical matters in numerous building and infrastructure project disputes.

Maged Abdelsayed was recognized in WWL’s guide for construction expert witnesses. A Montreal-based partner, Abdelsayed is a professional engineer with 35 years of construction industry experience.

He has served as an expert on more than 100 engagements relating to delay, quantum, and government contracting.

Cuthbertson Tardif was recognized in WWL’s guide for arbitration expert witnesses.

Overall, 10 HKA professionals received Lexology Client Choice Awards across its global offices, while 13 experts were recognized in WWL national guides.
