RSM hires Neil Chander as tax partner

RSM Canada has hired Neil Chander as a Toronto-based partner in its international tax practice.

Chander is an international tax expert with over 25 years of experience leading and building tax functions at large multinational organizations, with a focus on real estate. He has extensive experience with US and international regulatory and governance requirements, and has expertise across the treasury function, contract negotiations, transfer pricing, M&A, and operational transformation, among other areas.

Chander previously spent over three years at QuadReal Property Group, a $60-billion global real estate asset and property manager and developer, where he was SVP of global taxation. In the role, he managed the global tax function and oversaw compliance, structuring, due diligence, planning, and advisory.Before that, Chander spent 11 years at Colliers International (formerly FirstService), where he was a VP in the tax function. Prior to entering the real estate sector, Chander was a senior tax manager at PwC, a tax manager at Deloitte, and an accountant at BDO.

He has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Waterloo. Chander is also a CPA in Canada and the US and a chartered global management accountant.
