Alvarez & Marsal hires Augusto Patmore as managing director in Toronto
Alvarez & Marsal, a global management consulting firm, has hired Augusto Patmore as a Toronto-based managing director in its construction disputes offering.
Patmore is a professional engineer with 25+ years of experience working on global capital projects – including highways, railways, subways, mines, power plants, and hospital.
He has extensive experience advising clients on construction and engineering disputes and providing expert testimony in related litigation and arbitration.
Patmore spent the last 10 years at KPMG Canada, where he was a partner. During his tenure, he launched and led the firm’s capital projects advisory practice in Toronto and Eastern Canada, providing services in project diligence, commercial advisory, project forensic audits, and dispute and claims advisory.
Before KPMG, Patmore spent over four years at Spanish tunneling contractor OSSA, where he was managing director for international projects. Earlier in his career, he was a project director and area manager for various P3 highway projects for Ferrovial in Canada and Ireland.
Patmore has a master’s degree in civil engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and an MBA from Imperial College London.
Alvarez & Marsal also announced the hiring of Mike Hofstettler as a Los Angeles-based managing director in the construction disputes offering. He joins from Deloitte US, where he was a managing director and global leader of the infrastructure and capital projects practice.
Jerry Dent, managing director and North America leader of Alvarez & Marsal’s disputes and investigations (DI) practice, said, “The addition of Mike and Augusto underlines DI’s strategic commitment to deepening specific expertise in the construction and real estate markets. These new colleagues share our operational and results-driven approach for meeting the market’s needs amidst regulatory change and economic disruption.”
Founded in 1983 and headquartered in New York, Alvarez & Marsal provides advisory, business performance improvement, and turnaround management services. The firm has 8,000+ people across six continents.
Alvarez & Marsal earlier this year hired Scott Foster as managing director and Canada practice leader for transaction advisory.
