Avison Young adds team from Altus, launches Ontario property tax offering

Avison Young, a global commercial real estate services firm, has added a team of four professionals from rival firm Altus Group to launch a new property tax services offering in Ontario.

The Ottawa- and Toronto-based team comprises principals Karen Marangone and Erin Johnston and directors Chantelle MacMillan and Raymond Williams.

The new team will focus on expanding Avison Young’s property tax practice in Ontario, working closely with private and public clients in various sectors.

Marangone has three decades of experience in property tax and assessment. She spent the last 14 years at Altus, where she was a senior director. Before that, Marangone was an associate VP at Cushman & Wakefield and a senior manager at Deloitte.

Johnson has over 20 years of experience in property tax and assessment. She spent the last 21 years at Altus, most recently as a senior director.

MacMillan has a background in property tax advocacy, litigation, and paralegal services.  She spent the last three-and-a-half years at Altus, where she was a director. Before that she was a senior case management analyst at the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation and a licensed paralegal at Falconeri Rumble Harrison LLP and Glover & Associates.

Williams has over 10 years of experience in property tax and assessment. He spent the last 10 years at Altus, where he was latterly a senior consultant.
