Pinchin expands into US with Ransom Consulting acquisition
Pinchin, a Mississauga, ON-headquartered environmental and engineering consultancy, has acquired Ransom Consulting, a Portland, Maine-based environmental and engineering specialist.
Founded in 1988, Ransom has completed more than 6,000 projects for clients in commercial real estate, government, and industrials. The firm focuses on providing value-added environmental due diligence and remediation services.
Ransom has more than 60 employees across six offices in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Jersey.
Pinchin’s acquisition of Ransom will extend its presence into the US Northeast. The firm has 1,000 employees across more than 40 offices in Canada, coast-to-coast.
“The Ransom acquisition lays the foundation for Pinchin's expansion into the northeast US market," said Jeff Grossi, CEO of Pinchin. "Ransom fits ideally onto the Pinchin platform, extending Pinchin's presence and supporting our goal to become the predominant North American services provider in the Buildings and Land market for all phases of the real estate lifecycle."
Pinchin says its growth strategy includes US expansion and the development of new technical fields. The consulting firm’s service offerings span building science, environmental due diligence and remediation, emissions reduction and sustainability, geotechnical engineering, hazardous building materials, lab services, mechanical engineering, and health and safety.
“Integrating with Pinchin provides Ransom an opportunity to deliver additional capabilities and services, providing even greater value to our existing clients, while expanding our footprint, "said Stephen Ransom, CEO of Ransom. "We are proud of our legacy and look forward to exciting new opportunities as a Pinchin company."
