RSM Canada appoints Ian Constable as leader of Calgary office
RSM Canada, a national accounting and consulting firm, has appointed Ian Constable as leader of its Calgary office.
Constable on May 1 succeeded David Hird, who has retired after a 30-year career with RSM and predecessor firm Collins Barrow Calgary.
Constable has served as Western Canada audit leader at RSM since 2018, when Collins Barrow Calgary joined the firm. He previously spent 15 years in the audit practice of Collins Barrow, where he was latterly a partner.
Constable has deep expertise providing assurance, accounting, and taxation services to public and private mid-market firms, with a focus on real estate and oil and gas.
He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Calgary and is a chartered accountant.
“Ian’s devotion to a positive and inclusive culture is as well-respected as his business acumen and growth-focused mindset,” said Doug Kroetsch, Western Canada market leader at RSM Canada. “With Ian’s appointment, an impressive new space at The Ampersand – and a flourishing market – RSM is fully committed to our Calgary-based clients and community.”
RSM recently moved its Calgary office to The Ampersand, the newly renovated 28-story former Sun Life Plaza, located in the city’s downtown.
RSM Canada provides audit, tax, and consulting services to mid-market clients nationwide. The firm has more than 600 professionals in six offices across Ontario, Alberta, and BC.
The firm earlier this year added Hui Zhang as a tax partner based in Toronto.
