CIMA+ acquires Vancouver-based MidSea Engineering

CIMA+, a national design and engineering consultancy, has acquired MidSea Engineering, a Vancouver-based engineering consulting firm.

Founded in 2019, MidSea specializes in water resources, hydropower, marine infrastructure, and industrial engineering. Its team of six civil, mechanical, and structural engineers and project managers work with clients including major utilities, municipalities, private developers, and contractors.

CIMA+’s acquisition of MidSea will bolster its Western Canadian energy and resources sector and its municipal infrastructure capabilities in water resources, hydropower, and marine. The MidSea team will move to the Vancouver office of CIMA+.

CIMA+ in a press release added that MidSea’s dam and hydropower expertise will help the firm tackle any related projects in the region.

CIMA+ is headquartered in Laval, QC and has more than 2,800 professionals across 30+ offices nationwide. The firm has BC offices in Vancouver, Kelowna, Prince George, and West Kootenays.

The transaction builds on CIMA+’s 2022 acquisition of Westhoff Engineering Resources, a Calgary-based engineering consultancy focusing on water resource management.
