CIMA+ partners with Systemex Industries Conseils
CIMA+, a Laval, QC-headquartered design and engineering consulting firm, has established a strategic alliance with Systemex Industries Conseils (SIC), a Montreal-based provider of asset performance management consulting services.
Founded in 2008, SIC works with companies to optimize productivity in asset-heavy industries such as manufacturing, oil & gas, and mining & metallurgy. The firm’s engineers and technicians deliver strategic and technical support in operational readiness and commissioning, asset performance management (including assessment and maintenance/reliability best practices implementation and training), risk management, and maintenance/reliability outsourcing.
SIC has 11 employees, according to LinkedIn, and has worked with clients such as Bacardi, KraftHeinz, and Canadian Malartic.
The strategic alliance with CIMA+, which began in December, is a bilateral relationship rather than a subcontracting arrangement. The pair of firms can work together to address client needs, but are not required to do so, and can opt for a different contractual arrangement if they deem it preferable.
The partnership combines the firms’ complementary strengths and resources, according to Steeve Fiset, CIMA+’s chief strategy officer.
“The combination of [SIC’s] expertise in asset management and operational readiness and commissioning with our firm's expertise in building, infrastructure, transportation, energy, and resource engineering will benefit our respective clientele," Fiset said.
CIMA+ was founded in 1990 and provides engineering, environmental and geotechnical, geomatics and surveying, and project management services for buildings, infrastructure, and transportation. The firm also offers specialized services in urban planning and landscape architecture, software development, sustainability, commissioning, and mobility systems, among others areas.
CIMA+ has more than 2,800 employees across 30+ offices in Canada.
"SIC is proud to be one of the only consulting engineering firms in Quebec to be accredited as an ISO 55000 Endorsed Assessor by the Institute of Asset Management (IAM)," said Louis Soucy, president, Systemex Industries Conseils. "Joining forces with CIMA+ will allow us to add their project management, communication systems, and environmental services to our overall service offering and enable both firms to offer an enhanced range of services."
