Sylvain Béland CPA, a boutique accountancy based in Shawinigan, QC, has joined MNP, Canada’s largest mid-market accounting and consulting firm.

Founded over 35 years ago, the accountancy provides accounting and tax services to organizations throughout the Mauricie region of Quebec. Sylvain Béland and one other professional will join MNP’s Shawinigan office, with Béland joining as a partner.

"We are thrilled to bolster our presence in Shawinigan, which has a thriving business community. The city is known for its focus on innovation and entrepreneurship, particularly in the energy, technology, and manufacturing sectors. We are very excited to welcome Sylvain Béland CPA inc. – a firm that shares our values and client-centric approach – into the MNP fold,” said Alain Caillé, MNP's regional managing partner for the Quebec-Centre region, which includes offices in Trois-Rivières, Bécancour, Drummondville, Saint-Hyacinthe and Shawinigan.

Calgary-headquartered MNP has quickly expanded its presence in Quebec since entering the market in 2011 with a Montreal office. The most significant addition in recent years was a 2021 deal with Deloitte that added 500 Quebec employees from the Big Four firm’s regional offices.

MNP now counts more than 150 partners and 1,200 team members in 25 Quebec locations. The firm has more than 7,770 people across 125+ offices nationwide.

“We have grown quickly but, first and foremost, we are absolutely committed to maintaining our culture and so have always been very strategic about who we invite to join our team," said Jeremy Cole, MNP's EVP for the GTA and Quebec regions. "We are known across the communities we work with as being one of Canada's most-trusted professional services firms, so we are excited to welcome Sylvain Béland CPA inc.'s highly respected practice into the MNP family.”

MNP in December added Josée Turpin, CPA, a boutique accountancy based in Sainte-Thérèse on the North Shore of Montreal.
