Jarvis Consulting Group, an IT staffing and consulting firm, has been named one of Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures for 2022. The annual awards are run by executive search firm Waterstone Human Capital and recognize best-in-class Canadian organizations fostering high-performance corporate cultures that sustain a competitive advantage.

Jarvis is one of 12 winners in the “emerging” category, which covers companies with $5 million to $25 million in annual revenue.

The Toronto consultancy was founded four years ago and has since grown to more than 157 people, according to LinkedIn. Jarvis provides IT staffing solutions, IT consulting (including fully managed IT services), and an IT training and placement program.

“When we started Jarvis in 2018, we deliberately sought to humanize the engagement experience,” said Mike Corbett, CEO, Jarvis Consulting Group. “Our philosophy is centred on helping teams co-create innovative tech solutions by creating an open space for all to express their true selves by aggressively breaking down barriers to entry.”

The firm says it has since its inception invested in fair and inclusive hiring practices, transparency on company performance, ongoing training and career development, and regular recognition and rewards for teams and individual performance.

“At Waterstone we believe corporate culture drives performance and that it’s your organization’s single greatest asset,” said Marty Parker, president and CEO of Waterstone Human Capital and chair of the Canada’s Most Admired program. “The 2022 award recipients demonstrate that putting culture at the center of your strategy drives growth and accelerates performance. They actively craft high-performance cultures that drive extraordinary results and serve as an inspiration for others who want to do the same.”

Corporate culture is composed of the values, behaviours, and work environment of a company, and impacts everything from public image to employee turnover. Company culture is reflected in things such as dress code, business hours, employee benefits, and treatment of clients. Organizations with a “good” culture will often have employees with high morale and productivity.

Other consultancies recognized in Waterstone’s 2022 corporate culture awards included Boston Consulting Group (mid-market category) and Optimus SBR (growth category).
