CIMA+ acquires Mississauga-based Ediom
CIMA+, a Laval, QC-headquartered design and engineering consulting firm, has acquired Ediom, a boutique Mississauga, ON-based electrical engineering firm.
Ediom provides engineering, project management, construction management, and testing and commissioning services to renewable energy, utilities, and industrial, commercial, and institutional (ICI) clients.
The firm has a team of approximately 3 professionals, according to LinkedIn.
CIMA+ will add the Ediom team to its Mississauga office. Principal Shahid Pasha will join CIMA+ as vice president in the Ontario energy sector.
Pasha has more than two decades of experience, with a focus on supporting critical infrastructure projects for North American utilities. Prior to spending the last seven years at Ediom, he was a director of electrical operations an engineering at IEA, a US-based infrastructure construction firm specializing in energy and heavy civil projects.
Earlier in his career, Pasha was a project manager at K-Line Group, an engineering and construction firm focusing on utilities.
He has a master’s degree in engineering and business management from King’s College London and a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the University of East London.
"At CIMA+, the EDIOM team will have the opportunity to combine their experience with that of our team, while working on our various Energy projects," said Steeve L'Heureux, EVP, energy and resources at CIMA+. "Bringing EDIOM onboard is evidence of CIMA+'s ongoing commitment to grow its expertise and diversify its operations in the Ontario region and its growing markets."
The bulk of CIMA+’s 2,600 employees are located in its home province of Quebec, where it has 16 office locations. The firm has six offices in Ontario, as well as a further nine locations across Alberta, BC, Saskatchewan, and Newfoundland and Labrador. CIMA+ also has five international locations in Africa.
"Joining the growing pan-Canadian team at CIMA+ is a natural next step for us, one that can only benefit our loyal clients and the many new clients we will have the opportunity to serve as part of CIMA+," Pasha said.
Founded in 1990, CIMA+ delivers engineering, environmental and geotechnical, geomatics and surveying, and project management services in the areas of building, infrastructure, and transportation. The firm also offers complementary specialized services in urban planning and landscape architecture, software development, sustainability, commissioning, and intelligent and mobility systems, among others.
