Xebia selects Vipul Baijal to lead Americas operations
Xebia, a global IT consultancy, has tapped Vipul Baijal to lead the Americas region as the Dutch-origin firm eyes an expansion in Canada.
The firm, which has a Canadian location in downtown Toronto, said in a press release that it is “now embarking on an aggressive expansion in Canada.”
The news arrives shortly after the company announced significant growth plans for its US operations. Xebia currently has approximately 300 people across its US offices in Atlanta and San Francisco and plans to more than triple headcount to 1,000 by 2024.
The IT consultancy’s North American growth strategy is part of a wider M&A-driven expansion as pandemic challenges have boosted corporate and public sector demand for digital transformation services.
Xebia in 2021 bolted on five firms across Europe and India to add approximately 1,300 people. The firm earlier this year bought SwissQ, a Switzerland-based IT consultancy with 120 people.
Xebia wants to reach a valuation of $1 billion by 2024 and expects to buy six companies per year in the next two years.
Baijal has been selected to oversee the expansion in North America as managing director for the Americas region. The Denver-based professional will lead sales, strategy, alliances, marketing, and administration.
Baijal has been at the firm since 2019, and previously served as US head. He has more than 20 years of experience in digital transformation, IT services, project management, and business development. He previously spent nine years at IGT Solutions, an India-based IT consultancy, where he was latterly director of global account management and general manager, sales. Before that, Baijal was a project manager at Sodexo, a French multinational food services and facility management company.
Headquartered in Hilversum, Netherlands, Xebia has over 4,500 employees across offices in Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. The firm provides services in digital strategy, agile transformation, data and AI, DevOps, cloud, low-code, and Microsoft solutions to a wide range of industries.
