Teleo Capital acquires Western Principles
Teleo Capital Management, a Boise, ID-based private equity firm, has acquired Western Principles, a Vancouver-based project portfolio management software (PPM) consultancy.
Founded in 2005, Western Principles works with private and public sector clients to implement Microsoft’s PPM solution, which helps organizations effectively plan, prioritize, and manage project and portfolio investments. The solution enables companies to select the right projects at the right time by easily modeling scenarios, gaining visibility across projects, transforming data into actionable insights, and systematically evaluating data.
Western Principles also implements UMT360 strategic portfolio management (SPM) software. SPM is a more recent category that stresses continuous, unified planning aligned with an enterprise-wide strategy, as well as the adoption of Agile methods.
Western Principles was founded by Rob Williams, president. Prior to launching the firm, he was OEM and strategic partner manager for North America at Macromedia (now Adobe) and an account manager at IBM Canada.
The company’s more than 10 consultants have completed 100+ implementations since its founding.
Teleo Capital will merge Western Principles with UMT360, one of its portfolio companies. Williams will join UMT360 as a senior vice president.
"Having worked with Western Principles as a strategic partner in Canada for many years, this acquisition is the next logical step and will allow us to directly serve a premier market," said Catalin Olteanu, CEO of UMT360.
The firm provides a standalone SPM solution as well as accelerators to add strategy execution capabilities to Microsoft PPM. UMT360 also delivers consulting and implementation services. The Bellevue, WA-based company has more than 130 employees, according to LinkedIn.
UMT360 in December bolted on FIOS Insight, an enterprise architecture software firm, in a move that strengthened the company’s SPM product.
“UMT360 is fast becoming the Strategic Portfolio Management vehicle of choice for Fortune 100 companies. The acquisitions of FIOS Insight and Western Principles align with UMT360's strategy to provide a comprehensive solution designed to drive business agility for more enterprises," said Teleo Capital in a press release.
Teleo Capital was founded in 2018 and is a lower middle-market PE firm that focuses on the technology and software, healthcare IT, business services, and industrial sectors.
