Bain & Company promotes Toronto-based Robert Lauder to partner
Bain & Company announced 78 promotions to partner across its global footprint effective January 1, including Robert Lauder, who is based in the consulting firm’s Toronto location.
Over a quarter of the 2022 partner class are women and more than half are based in Bain’s EMEA and Asia-Pacific regions, which represent 33 of 63 total offices.

The Boston-headquartered firm promoted 34 people in its Americas region, including one team member in Canada.
Robert Lauder has been at Bain & Company for the last seven-and-a-half years, most recently serving as an associate partner in the private equity practice. Lauder currently focuses on supporting PE firms with commercial due diligence and M&A strategy in industries including financial services, consumer products, and technology.
During his tenure at Bain, Lauder has advised clients in a range of industries on corporate strategy, commercial due diligence, M&A strategy, pricing strategy, commercial capabilities, impact investing, and sustainability and corporate responsibility.
He joined the management consultancy’s London office in 2014 as a consultant, later relocating to the firm’s Toronto office. Lauder was named a principal in 2020.
He previously spent five years in investment banking at Macquarie Group.
Lauder holds an MBA from London Business School and a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
In addition to the 78 people promoted to partner on January 1, Bain announced that 50 people joined the firm as partners in 2021.
The firm has approximately 12,000 employees and annual revenue of $4.1 billion.
