The HIDI Group, a Toronto-headquartered building engineering consultancy, has announced a leadership transition with the appointment of Dario Di Carlo as chief executive officer and David Sinclair as president, effective November 17.

Di Carlo succeeds Andrew Hidi, who founded the company in 1975. Initially a mechanical engineering services firm, a 1999 merger with E.A. Rae & Associates expanded the company’s capabilities into electrical consulting. Andrew Hidi will hold the role of founder.

Sinclair succeeds Jamie Hidi, who joined the firm in 1990 and was named president in 2003. During his tenure, the company expanded its design and engineering offerings into communications, security, lighting, audio visual, energy services, and commissioning. The company also opened offices in Calgary, Dubai, and Ottawa to serve growing markets in North America, Europe, and the Middle East. The firm today has more than 200 employees.

"Our incredible staff is the reason for our success. The evolution of our firm celebrates putting people in positions to make a difference," said Jamie Hidi, who will serve as executive advisor.HIDI Group names Dario Di Carlo as CEO and David Sinclair as presidentDi Carlo has more than 15 years of experience in electrical, telecommunications, security, audio visual, and other low voltage systems design.
