BDO Canada has hired Rocco Galletto as partner and head of the firm’s national cybersecurity practice. He is based in the Greater Toronto Area.

In his new role, Galletto will lead a cross-country team that helps mid-market clients develop effective cybersecurity programs and build strong cyber defenses.

BDO’s cybersecurity practice delivers risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities as well as custom cyber strategies to improve readiness for an attack, response planning for breaches, and technical recovery and forensic services in the event of a breach.

Galletto brings more than 20 years of experience in information technology. He has provided IT and cyber services to clients in a wide range of industries, including retail, financial services, and the public sector. Galletto has advised organizations on developing cyber strategies, building new capabilities, and preparing and responding to attacks.BDO hires Rocco Galletto as leader of national cybersecurity practiceHe joins BDO from Deloitte, where he spent eight years and was a partner focusing on engagements in identity and access management, risk assessment, security operations, and security information and event management.

Before that, he spent more than 16 years at IBM, where he was latterly a client executive in the retail branch, overseeing the technology giant’s client relationship with Canada’s largest retailer. Prior to that, Galletto was a sales manager overseeing a sales & delivery team responsible for $60 million in annual revenue.

“I am pleased to welcome Rocco as a Partner on our Advisory team,” said Dave Keddy, advisory managing partner. “Rocco's experience and leadership will be instrumental in strengthening our cybersecurity advisory capabilities for our clients across the country. I look forward to working with Rocco in his new leadership role with the firm.”

BDO Canada provides audit, tax, and consulting services to clients across a wide range of industries. The firm has 4,100 people in 125+ offices nationwide.

BDO earlier this year welcomed Sam Abdulrrazek, also previously of Deloitte, as a partner in the technology consulting practice.
