RAM Consulting buys Encepta and Horizon Engineering
RAM Consulting, a Vancouver-based design and engineering consultancy, has acquired Encepta Corp., an engineering firm specializing in telecoms, and Horizon Engineering, a geotechnical consulting specialist.
The addition of the two firms will allow RAM to provide more comprehensive engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services to its infrastructure sector clients.
Founded in 2012 and based in Burnaby, BC, Encepta supports telecom clients with field services, design, inspection, and construction management, as well as big data analytics and AI-powered models. The firm has been recently working on numerous projects in fiber optics and 5G as the area ramps up development.
Encepta has more than 70 employees across offices in Burnaby, Victoria, Calgary, and Toronto, according to LinkedIn.Horizon Engineering was founded in 1997 and is based in Vancouver. The firm provides geotechnical assessments for new construction and renovations/retrofits. Its offerings include subsurface investigation, lab testing, and analyses, as well as design development and drafting, report and specification preparation, and field reviews during construction.
Horizon has completed nearly 5,000 projects, and has approximately 11 employees, according to LinkedIn.
Encepta and Horizon will continue to operate under their own brands and maintain their existing management.
