Vaco opens Vancouver office, names Nirad Chaudhari as leader
Vaco, a global staffing and consulting firm, has opened its third Canadian location with a new office in Vancouver. The office will be led by new hire Nirad Chaudhari, a seasoned recruiter and IT executive.
Based in Nashville and backed by Olympus Partners, Vaco has grown steadily in the last 18 years to an employee base of 1,200 people across 40+ offices in the US, Canada, and India, with global revenue of US$700 million.
The firm provides core services in executive search, placement, and strategic staffing, as well as managed services in project management and software development. Vaco grew its offering into management consulting with the acquisition of MorganFranklin Consulting last year.
Vaco expanded into Canada in 2017 with the acquisition of Lannick, a Toronto-based recruitment firm focused on accounting, finance, and IT roles. The firm then added a Montreal office in late 2019 via the strategic hiring of a team from Randstad Canada.
The firm bolstered its Toronto office with last month’s acquisition of Prodigy Bank, a recruitment firm focusing on roles in the technology and financial services sectors, and grew its Montreal team with the addition of experienced recruiter Caroline Haché earlier this month.
Vaco has now expanded to Vancouver, with a new office located at 2015 Main Street. The location will serve the area’s technology, trade, entertainment, tourism, and construction industries.
The company has brought on Nirad Chaudhari to lead the Vancouver office. He brings more than 20 years of talent consulting and IT industry experience to the role.
“We’ve enjoyed exciting and rapid expansion in the Canadian market in recent years, and a great opportunity for continued growth exists in the Vancouver area,” said Tom Turpin, president of technology solutions for Vaco’s Canada offices. “The Vancouver market is the fastest-growing economy in the country and has untapped potential for success. We are thrilled to have Nirad lead our growth plans in this market.”
Chaudhari joins from Experis, an IT, finance, and engineering recruiting division of ManpowerGroup, where he spent a year as a managing director. Before that, he spent more than 12 years at Randstad Canada, where he was latterly a director in the engineering recruitment division. In the role, he was responsible for growing the engineering division in British Columbia.
Prior to that, he was a director of business & resource management at Catalytic Software, a Seattle-based enterprise software firm. He has an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Devi Ahilya University in India.
“I am eager to lead our team and position Vaco as a force in the marketplace poised to capitalize on the many opportunities in British Columbia,” Chaudhari said.
