BDO Canada adds two new partners in Toronto office
Mid-market accounting and consulting firm BDO Canada has welcomed Sam Abdulrrazek and Amanda Favot as partners in the firm’s Toronto office. Abdulrrazek joins the technology consulting practice, while Favot joins the financial advisory services group.
Abdulrrazek has over 15 years of management consulting experience, providing technology and digital strategy to a range of industry clients, including retail, natural resources, financial services, and the public sector. He has worked on consulting engagements across the Americas, Europe, and Africa.
At BDO, Abdulrrazek will focus on helping clients implement digital technology and execute their technology journey. He previously spent 15 years at Deloitte, where he was latterly the mid-market digital strategy leader. At the Big Four firm, he helped mid-market clients solve challenges in digital and application strategy, digital transformation, and IT effectiveness.
He holds an MBA from the University of Western Ontario and a bachelor of mathematics in computer science from the University of Waterloo.
“We are excited to welcome Sam as a new Consulting partner to the team within our Technology group,” said Sonia Edmonds, national managing partner of BDO’s consulting service line. “Adding his expertise to our team will help us expand our technology services for our clients more rapidly.”
Favot has over 19 years of experience in accounting and financial advisory, including restructuring, M&A, and interim management. She has deep expertise conducting independent business reviews and supporting creditors on strategic plans, debt restructuring alternatives, and labour relations, among other areas. She has also served in numerous interim management roles for distressed companies.
Before joining BDO, Favot was a managing director at advisory firm Welch Capital Partners, where she led the M&A, valuation & litigation support, and virtual CFO services for the Greater Toronto Area. Prior to that, she spent a decade at consulting firm Alvarez & Marsal, where she was a director.
Earlier in her career, Favot was a senior associate in the corporate advisory and restructuring practice at PwC, and an associate in the audit business at KPMG. She holds a bachelor of business administration from York University and is a chartered professional accountant.
“We are excited to welcome Amanda as a partner to the team,” said Dave Keddy, leader of the advisory service line. “She brings a wealth of experience to our firm and will help us to continue to grow our Advisory service offerings.”
