Bain & Company promotes Jordan Barnett to partner in Toronto
Management consultancy Bain & Company has promoted Jordan Barnett to partner. Barnett, who was part of the December 2019 promotion class, was one of 94 individuals appointed partner in 2019. He joins a team of 18 partners at Bain’s Toronto location, which opened in 1989.
Barnett focuses on financial services and mining clients (old stalwarts of the Toronto consulting scene), delivering advisory support in strategy, performance improvement, M&A, customer segmentation, and capital asset optimization.
He joined the prestigious consulting firm in 2010 as a summer associate while he was completing an MBA at Dartmouth College. Barnett then worked as a consultant and manager at Bain, before being promoted to principal in 2017.
Prior to entering the management consulting industry, Barnett was a project manager at Crossey Engineering International. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from The University of Western Ontario and an MBA from Dartmouth.
Barnett was the sole Canadian partner promotion at Bain in 2019. Ninety-four people across 40 of Bain’s 58 global offices were admitted to the firm’s partnership last year in the June and December promotion rounds.
According to the firm, more than 30% of the new partners were women, and 60% were in the Asia-Pacific and EMEA regions.
“We congratulate these next-generation leaders and celebrate their accomplishments, including both extraordinary client results and standout examples of coaching, mentoring, and building great teams within our firm,” said a statement from the firm.
Founded in 1973 and based in Boston, Bain is one of the top management consulting firms, alongside rivals McKinsey & Company and BCG. The firm has 10,500 global employees and annual revenues of US$4.5 billion.
