IT consultancy Solvera Solutions acquires Winnipeg-based Apptius
Solvera, a Regina-based IT consulting firm with operations across Western Canada, has acquired Apptius Computer Solutions, a Winnipeg-based IT consultancy.
Apptius was founded in 2001, and provides custom software development on the Microsoft platform to public and private sector clients across Winnipeg and North America. The firm also provides outsourced IT staffing solutions.
Solvera expands its Winnipeg office with the acquisition, adding Apptius’ 11 professionals to an existing base of approximately 35 staff in the Manitoban capital. Solvera opened its Winnipeg office in 2011, and has further locations in Regina, Saskatoon, Calgary, and Victoria.
The transaction is in line with Solvera’s growth strategy, which has combined steady growth in client relationships with strategic acquisitions.
“Apptius is very well regarded in the marketplace and the addition of the highly skilled Apptius team strengthens Solvera’s ability to meet client needs in Winnipeg and across western Canada. We look forward to a promising future together,” said Jim Ostertag and Reg Robinson, Solvera’s co-CEOs.
John Thistlethwaite, CFO and senior consultant at Apptius, said, “Our outstanding team of developers and other specialists will work with existing and new clients but with the added advantage of Solvera’s broader field of knowledge and resources. We thank all our clients for your years of trust and support and giving us the opportunity to help grow Manitoba’s technology sector.”
Solvera was founded in 2005, and has approximately 250 employees across Western Canada. The firm provides a range of IT consulting services, including IT strategy, architecture, project management, app development, and SAP, Microsoft, and ServiceNow integrations. Solvera advises clients across a wide range of industry verticals.
