Chicago-based insurance brokerage and benefits consultancy Hub International has acquired W.R. Carey Corporation, a Winnipeg-based employee benefits consulting firm.

Hub has continued its acquisition drive in the benefits consulting space, having already bought at dozen employee benefits firms in Canada this year. The acquisitions have included Alberta-based benefits consultancies Clarity Benefits Group and BenefitLink Resource Group, Saskatchewan-based Regency Advisory Group, and BC-based retirement plan consultancy Porchlight Financial.

The firm aims to deliver a complete employee benefits and pension solution across the country – supporting clients with benefits and pension solutions, including benefits communication, health and wellness, and retirement offerings. Hub also plans to achieve more than $100 million in commission fees by 2021 in Canada, while opening more than 10 new offices and creating at least 100 more jobs.

The company’s latest acquisition is W.R. Carey Corporation, a Winnipeg, Manitoba–based independent employee benefits consulting firm. W.R. Carey offers a wide range of benefits programs, including benefits plan consulting and group retirement services. Founder Bill Carey along with all the company’s employees will join Hub Manitoba.
