Grant Thornton acquires BC firm Presley & Partners
Grant Thornton LLP, the Canadian member firm of Grant Thornton International, has acquired Presley & Partners, a Courtenay, BC–based accounting and financial consulting firm.
Founded in 1982, Presley & Partners has 20 employees serving a wide range of industries in the Comox Valley of Vancouver Island. The firm provides accounting, tax, and consulting services to a wide range of clients, including owner-managed businesses, nonprofits, professionals, construction firms, fishing and forestry, hospitality, and retail companies.
On the advisory side, the firm provides business planning and consulting, cash flow planning, accounting software implementation, and succession planning.
Grant Thornton has expanded its Vancouver Island presence with the acquisition of Presley & Partners, bringing the resources of its national network to the community of Courtenay. Presley & Partners will remain in its current office on Fitzgerald Avenue.
Grant Thornton’s Vancouver Island locations include Victoria, Port Alberni, Duncan, and Nanaimo.
The Courtenay office will be Grant Thornton’s 14th location in British Columbia.
"Presley & Partners joining the Grant Thornton family makes perfect sense, because we are so clearly aligned in our commitment to helping our clients, colleagues, and communities thrive," said Dan Little, managing partner, Vancouver Island, Grant Thornton. "I'm thrilled that we're working together to help businesses in the area reach their goals."
Colleen Ellison, partner at Presley & Partners, added, "We view ourselves as an extension of each client's business, and that approach has created some very meaningful and rewarding relationships. We're excited to have access to a host of new resources and services to help our valued clients succeed and grow in today's changing world."
In January, Grant Thornton gained its first office in Saskatchewan with the acquisition of Prince Albert-based accounting and consulting firm Grayling Business Consulting. In December 2018, the firm bought Mississauga, ON–based management consultancy GrowthPoint Advisory Services, and in October 2018 acquired MacPherson Roche Smith, a PEI-based accounting and consulting firm.
Together with Quebec firm Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton, Grant Thornton LLP has more than 4,000 employees and 170 offices across Canada. In addition to audit and tax, Grant Thorton delivers a wide range of advisory services, including business and tech consulting, transactions, risk management, and forensics.
