Three former consultants among Canada's Top 40 Under 40

A trio of former management consultants – Justine Janssen, Hratch Panossian, and Robert Cherun – were among the enterprising young minds honored in the annual Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 awards.

Founded in 1995 by executive search firm Caldwell, Top 40 is Canada’s most coveted award for young business leaders. The alumni of the Top 40 are the rising stars of Canadian business, with hundreds of nationally and internationally prominent CEOs, CFOs, and executives among their ranks.

Three former management consultants – alumni of Oliver Wyman and McKinsey – are among the 2019 honorees. And though they don’t currently works for management consultancies, advisors easily slot into nearly any business or organization, especially if it’s one of the industries they used to support.

Justine Janssen is senior vice president of strategic initiatives at Ceridian, a global human capital management technology firm. In the role, she leads Ceridian’s growth and transformation initiatives. Janssen led the firm’s 2018 IPO, which raised more than $800 million and was the largest tech IPO ever in Canada.

Prior to Ceridian, Janssen was a management consultant at Oliver Wyman, where she worked on strategy development, strategic sourcing, organizational change, and due diligence, among other areas. She holds an HBA in management and entrepreneurship from The University of Western Ontario.

Canada's Top 40 under 40

Hratch Panossian is executive vice president, global controller and investor relations, at CIBC. Prior to his current role, Panossian was head of strategy and corporate development at CIBC, and before that, the head of balance sheet management.

He joined CIBC from TD Bank, where he was associate vice president, corporate development. Earlier in his career, Panossian was a senior engagement manager and consultant at Oliver Wyman, where he served clients in the North American finance and risk practice.

Panossian holds an MS in management science and engineering from Stanford University and a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from McGill University.

Robert Cherun is chief executive officer of Stealth Monitoring, a leading provider of live video monitoring solutions. Before Stealth, Cherun worked in strategy and business management at Morgan Stanley, where he led a team in a successful turnaround at the global wealth management division.

Earlier in his career, Cherun was a business analyst at McKinsey & Company, and an associate in the assurance & business advisory services practice of PwC. He holds an MBA from Stanford University and an HBA in business from The University of Western Ontario.
